Instructions	Wash your hands. Remove pessary from plastic wrapping. Push the pessary into the hole at the end of the applicator. Either using a squatting position or lying on your back or side, insert the pessary deeply into the vagina using the applicator provided. Depress the plunger to release the pessary then remove the applicator from your vagina. Wash your hands again. For hygiene purposes, use a new applicator after 7 days. Once in the vagina the pessary will melt and may leak from your vagina. You may find it more comfortable to insert the pessary before going to bed at night rather than during the day. If you do insert it during the day, sanitary towels can be used to prevent any staining of your clothes.
Precautions	Pregnancy: DO NOT USE DURING PREGNANCY A recent retrospective case-control study from Hungary suggested a weak association between boric acid exposure during pregnancy and major malformations, but the association did not reach statistical significance. Only topical azole therapies, applied for 7 days, are recommended for use among pregnant women.
Adverse Effects	On very rare occasions, “Boric acid poisoning” has occurred. This was mainly due to long-term use on open wounds as an antiseptic. However, it is important to be aware of the signs. If you notice any of these signs, stop using the pessaries immediately and contact your doctor. This is considered a medical emergency. Signs to look out for include: Vomiting Diarrhea Fever Abdominal pain Red irritated rash Feeling tired or lethargic Seizures or Convulsions Twitching of muscles of arms, hands, legs or feet Low blood pressure Significantly decreased urine output A yellow colour to the skin or eyes, itching, dark coloured urine or light coloured bowel motions
Storage Conditions	Refrigerate. Do not freeze. (2 – 6 degrees C) Discard contents after the expiry date stated on the box.
